A new version of ForestLog has just been uploaded to the PlayStore. The user experience hasn’t changed much but in the background there have been a lot of changes. The app now uses cloud storage so that it’s possible to use multiple devices at the same time and still have access to the same data. The pictures added to the forest are also saved in the cloud.

The biggest change for the user is that you need to login from now on. It’s possible to create an account or use the app anonymously. If you choose to use it anonymously, it’s important to understand that you can’t use the same data on other devices and your are not able to login again with the same ID once you logout or reinstall the app. This is due to the fact that ForestLog doesn’t have anything to tie you or your device to the account. If you choose to go the anonymous route, there is an option to convert your account to a registered one from within the app. After that, you can use the same account on different devices.

On the bottom of the login screen there is an option to continue anonymously.

The next update will focus on fixing bugs in the cloud storage functionality and adding more functions to the app itself.
